Lend Me A Tenor

Join us as we celebrate 11 years in the community by reviving our inaugural production of Ken Ludwig's Lend Me A Tenor. This farcical show guarantees to have audiences rolling out of their chairs. You may notice some changes in the 2019 version, designed to modernize the story, but they only add to the hilarity of this great play. 

Lend Me a Tenor premiered in the West End on March 6, 1986 and on Broadway in 1989. It was revived on Broadway in 2010,  and saw a musical adaptation created in 2006. Ludwig also wrote Comedy of Tenors a sequel to this show. 

The play takes place in 1934, in a hotel suite in Cleveland, Ohio. The two-room set has a sitting room with a sofa and chairs at right and a bedroom at left. A center "stage wall" divides the two rooms, with a door leading from one room to the other. (Throughout the play, the audience can see what's happening in both rooms at the same time.) Henry Saunders, the general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company anxiously awaits the arrival of Tito Merelli, a world-famous Italian opera tenor. However, Saunders and his harried assistant Max soon find that Tito will be more than they bargained for, as they try to save the show and overcome the mess that Tito has made.

We are overjoyed to welcome back may of the original cast members of this show for this performance, with a few new additions as well.
